TO PROVIDE QUALITY, AFFORDABLE, COMPASSIONATE HEALTHCARE
What is Direct Personal Care?
Direct Personal Care (DPC) is an innovative healthcare model that focuses on the the physician/patient relationship. Personal care is customized to a patient's individual needs, as determined by the physician, with her specialized education and many years of experience, in consultation with the patient. This relationship and care should not be determined by third parties such as the government or insurance companies whose primary focus is to increase profits by cutting patient benefits.
Direct Personal Care drives down the cost of healthcare by slashing the red tape and the burdensome requirements parties impose on doctors and their staff in order to pay claims. DPC benefits patient care by removing these obstructive entities from the physician/patient relationship.
Why do We Need Direct Personal Care?
Most people are in agreement that the current health care system is broken. We hear everyday patients who express disgruntlement with the current system. Physicians are also frustrated at the intrusion into the patient/physican relationship and see the damage which results.
How Does Direct Personal Care Work? Direct Personal Care is a new practice model being implemented across the nation. It has been very successful for all parties involved. DPC allows doctors and patients to have a relationship that excludes insurance companies. Your doctor is employed by YOU. In this alternate model, you (the patient) pay a monthly membership fee and Dr. Jefferds provides the professional care she has been trained to do. Our office does not bill any insurance company for office visits.
What Direct Personal Care Is Not
Direct Personal Care is not Concierege Medicine. We do not charge fees in addition to billing and receiving payments from insurance companies. Direct Personal Care is designed to serve all individuals who seek quality healthcare.
Current Issues: *Patients are Frustrated Patients are frustrated with the lack of time their doctors are able to spend with them. They are inconvenienced by having to return to the office multiple times to address all health concerns instead of being able to complete matters in a simple visit. Many feel rushed as doctors try to complete their encounter in an attempt to see as many patients as possible just to meet the overhead costs of operating a medical office. Often it is difficult to get an appointment in a timely manner. Some patients are forced to seek care at emergency rooms or impersonal walk-in clinics, where staff are unfamiliar with the patient's personal medical background and needs.
*Doctors are Frustrated Doctors are working harder than ever to meet complicated and cumbersome regulations imposed by the insurance companies and government. Many insurance companies pay less than what is required to meet the doctor's costs to see a patient. As a consequence some doctors are closing their doors, many are retiring early because of burnout. As the stress on physicians increases it is becoming more and more difficult for patient to find a doctor who can give the care and attention they need.
